Collins College is committed to the technical training, development and preparation necessary for our graduates to succeed. Collins College lays the foundation for a successful education experience with industry-current equipment, an experienced and dedicated staff and a curriculum that is continually reviewed by our active Advisory Committee.
The Campus
Collins College occupies over 100,000 square feet of floor space. This includes various classrooms, computer labs, darkrooms, a digital print room, video editing bays and a photographic studio. A library/student resource center, student learning centers and a student store are also available. The college is accessible to the handicapped.The Classes
The college population averages approximately 2000 students who attend morning, afternoon and/or evening sessions. Every attempt is made to keep class size to a ratio of one teacher per about 30 students. The maximum number of students in any classroom or laboratory is 45. Student assistants are utilized to facilitate individual attention in larger classes.The Equipment
Collins College utilizes hardware and software that is specifically selected based on industry standards. For each program and each class that requires the use of a computer, the students work at industry-current computer workstations. All hardware and software are, for this reason, subject to change.

AA in Digital Video Production
Tell a great story behind the lens of a camera with our quality digital video production education. After having the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of pre- and post-production and non-linear editing, plus lighting and audio for video and field production, you can demonstrate your talent in the form of videos you create from concept to final, edited composition.
In our digital video production program, you can also explore live television studio production and staging techniques for live events. You'll have an opportunity to work with industry-current programs like Adobe Photoshop and After Effects and refine your skills on Avid XpressPro® and Digidesign Protools, having the opportunity to cultivate the knowledge, skills and experience to produce effective commercial presentations.
Film & Video Production - Bachelor of Arts

AS in Information Technology
General Information
The Information Systems Technician certificate program consists of 92 quarter credits, and takes approximately 24 months to complete. Students attend classes in day or evening sessions.
Educational Objective
The Information Technology Associate Degree program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform entry-level network administration job functions. Students should understand networking technology for local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs) as well as programming concepts. This program prepares students for networking and information technology careers in industry and business. The curriculum provides exposure to PC troubleshooting, applications, and operating systems, as well as network configuration, administration, hardware, maintenance and security.
Program Outcomes
As a result of completing the Information Technology program, graduates should be able to build, maintain, and troubleshoot basic computer hardware and operating environments and support users of industry standard operating systems with common productivity software. They also should be able to apply industry standards and best practices in planning, implementing, and administering a network infrastructure including network media, topology, and connectivity devices as well as industry standard server platforms. Graduates should also be able to apply principles of troubleshooting and customer service, understand basic programming concepts, and manage internet services and web content.
