Associate's - Computer Aided Drafting & Design

Southwest Florida College offers training if you desire a career in computer aided drafting. In today's modern business climate, most drafters now use CAD systems to prepare drawings for their clients. Southwest Florida College will teach you to produce technical drawings using the latest upgrades to CAD-based software. But we also help you acquire the skills and experience with the tools you need to function as a traditional drafter. Just as important, our education is delivered in the most efficient and cost-effective way possible.

Our program can be completed within two short years of study and will familiarize you with the standards governing the ever-evolving business of modern technical drafting.

Southwest Florida College's Computer Aided Drafting and Design program is designed to prepare you for employment in the technical drafting industry. After successfully completing the program, you will be able to develop technical drawings with both a computer-aided drafting software workstation and traditional drafting tools.

We will focus you on the area of architectural drafting; however, you will be introduced to other disciplines such as civil, structural, electrical/electronic and mechanical drafting. Upon successful completion of our program, you will be qualified to pursue entry-level positions in drafting, product design, cartography, estimating, sales and quality control.

Associate's - Computer Animation/Multimedia

With the enhancement of electronic and wireless technologies in today's world, interactive designers are in high demand. Multimedia designers are visual communicators that combine text and images in a virtual environment which includes everything from animation components for the web to animated character development for commercials. Multimedia designers create in both a Macintosh (Apple) and PC environment along with the Autodesk 3DS Max to generate virtual environments and basic character and object development. The Computer Animation/Multimedia program prepares students for a successful career in media design through building a foundation of traditional digital design skill, and then providing students with multimedia training on current multimedia/animation applications.

Associate's - Computer Programming and Database Management

Southwest Florida College’s Computer Programming & Database Management degree program is designed to provide students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the Information Technology field. Available at our Fort Myers campus, this program develops a practical knowledge of personal computer hardware and operating systems, network maintenance, along with database administration, programming fundamentals.

Associate's - Network Engineering & Administration

The Network Engineering and Administration program will provide students with principles and terminology of Networking Technology. Student will apply their knowledge through hands-on real world scenarios and simulation using current Network Technology. The training will provide a foundation needed in Network Engineering and Administration entry level positions. Courses included in this program will also provide a strong base for students wanting to obtain positions in IT Security. Many of the core courses apply directly to the Industry standard certifications such as: CompTia, Microsoft, Cisco, and Computer Forensics Investigation. Topics within the program will include virtual servers, cloud computing, IT Forensics, and Digital Home Integration Technology.

Bachelor's - Cyber Technology & Security

The Bachelor’s Degree in Cyber Technology and Security is built upon a foundation of information technology, digital forensics, and criminal justice coursework.

Students receive training in Crime Mapping, Network + Preparation, Network Security Fundamentals, Computer Forensics and Investigations, Economics of Crime and Punishment, Wireless Security and Forensics, Criminal Investigations and Police Procedure, Criminology and more. 

Upon completion of the program, graduates can be eligible for employment in a variety of entry-level government and corporate Information Technology Security positions, performing digital forensic investigations as well as securing sensitive information technology networks and devices from vulnerabilities and attack.

Bachelor's - Information Technology & Security Systems

This program is focused on preparing students to obtain knowledge in the preservation of information assets. Students will become skilled in the identification of computer security vulnerabilities and develop a level of specialization in information security beyond what is provided by more general programs.

The program allows students sufficient time to explore the issues and technologies of computer and network security and develop the skills needed to design or troubleshoot an organization's security systems procedures, standards, protocols, and policies, as well as ensure that operational security is in compliance with standards, policies, and laws.
