Business Computer Specialist

This program builds a solid foundation in fundamental computer and professional skills. Emphasis is placed on learning a variety of business application software, discovering what the Internet is all about, and gaining accounting fundamentals and skills in some of the most popular software applications in use today. Furthermore, it develops those professional skills which are highly sought after by all employers. The program focuses on three key areas. First, the focus is on rounding out software application knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and personal management software. Then students gain the common knowledge required to maintain a personal computer. Lastly, there is an emphasis on accounting, with training and then practice using the most common accounting packages used in today's small to intermediate and then large corporate offices.

Graduates of this program will be ideally suited for positions in small to medium-sized organizations here an individual with superior IT (Information Technology) and accounting skills is required. Typical positions for which graduates can expect to qualify include:

Help Desk Support Analyst

The Help Desk Support Analyst diploma program is designed for students wishing to embark on a career in the Information Technology industry. The objective is to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to service computer systems and to support users of these systems.

Students will study the theory of computer systems and operating systems and then develop practical skills through hands-on training. In addition, students will work with industry standard application software to develop expertise with help desk operations and troubleshooting. Program highlights include: Hardware Installation and Configuration, Operating Systems, MS Office Applications, System Support and Optimization, and Help Desk Techniques.

Active participation in our Learning System also helps students develop confidence in their abilities as information technology professionals. The Help Desk Support Analyst program prepares students for entry into the IT marketplace. Graduates may successfully compete for positions as Computer Technicians, Technical Support Specialists and First-Level Help-Desk Troubleshooters.
