Diploma in CAD/Drafting Technology

CAD operators help create things as small as action figures and as large as hundred-story skyscrapers. They turn designs into reality. Enroll in our CAD/Drafting Technology program, and you'll learn to use CAD software to make drawings based on sketches done by engineers, surveyors, architects or scientists. CAD drawings can be used to build everything from toys, toasters and spacecraft to houses, office buildings and oil pipelines.

Our CAD/Drafting Technology program offers students the following courses and benefits:

  • The skills to perform manual drafting.
  • The opportunity to learn computer-aided (AutoCAD) drafting.
  • The knowledge to create drawings in 2-D and 3-D.
  • Training in residential drafting/detailing, roadway drafting, light commercial drafting, structural and commercial detailing and structural steel drawing.

Upon graduation, you will be qualified to work as a Detailer, a Drafter or a CAD Operator in fields such as architectural design, electronics, communications, construction, government, manufacturing, public utilities and transportation.

Diploma in Computer Networking and Security

If you enroll in our Computer Networking & Security program, you'll learn to provide the maintenance, support and protection of computer systems and networks by installing, modifying and repairing computer hardware, software and peripherals. Gain the knowledge to assist employees with computer problems, and become skilled at installing and supporting a company's LAN, WAN, network segment, Internet or Intranet. Plus, train to oversee corporate network security measures and protect a corporation against security threats like viruses and hacks.

Some of the benefits our graduates come away with are:

  • Network security training, including computer forensic techniques.
  • Preparation for A+ certification (The skills required to install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair computers).
  • An understanding of Windows and Linux.
  • A working knowledge of Internet hardware.

Your training will qualify you to install, maintain and repair electronic equipment such as computers, stereos and office equipmentt. You'll know how check for common causes of trouble, and how to use diagnostic and hand tools to repair problems. Plus, you'll be taught to repair problems caused by malfunctions in individual electronic units and circuits as well as in more complex systems such as local area networks (LANS).

People in Electronics Technology enjoy fixing things, they're fascinated by how things work, and their hobbies include computers. They may be interested in math, might enjoy science fiction movies, and possibly read technical and scientific magazines.
