What's the job outlook?

As computers become an increasingly vital part of virtually every kind of business, the evolving technologies - and the people who understand them - take on even greater importance. Cisco® routers and switches are the products most widely used to send information from one network to another. As the demand for networked computer systems grows, so does the demand for CCNA®s and CCNP®s, who understand how to configure, maintain and support Cisco® routers and switches.

What will I do with my education?

Graduates of Heald's Cisco® Systems Administration program pursue CCNA® certification, and then assume a variety of positions, including help desk technician, field technician, network technician and customer service technician. Graduates of our advanced Cisco® Systems administration program pursue CCNP® certification, and then, assume rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including network administrator, Level II Support Engineer, Level II Systems Engineer, network engineer or deployment engineer.

Graduates of Heald's network systems administration program pursue rewarding careers in a variety of positions, including LAN administrator, WAN administrator, junior network administrator, technical support specialist or network support technician. You'll also be prepared to pursue the following technical certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+, Security+ and Microsoft® Certified Professional.

As a network systems administrator, you'll generate reports, implement and configure customer support databases, install and maintain servers, recommend hardware and software, and monitor network performance.
