Miami Campus

The Miami campus of Florida Career College offers modern, comfortable classrooms, computer labs with PC and Mac computers, Medical Labs, bookstore and a resource center. The resource center provides students and faculty with reference materials, including books, videos and periodicals to supplement textbooks and lectures. Also, each campus houses school offices for student services, financial services, and career center.

The Miami campus is located at 1321 SW 107 Avenue, Suite 201B, Miami, Florida. The 28,000-square-foot facility is conveniently located across the street from Florida International University (F.I.U.) South Campus.

This program takes a "hands-on" approach in teaching students how to become successful computer network technicians. Students will begin by learning basic computer fundamentals, as well as computer repair and maintenance. Courses then progress to more advanced studies, including administering, troubleshooting and supporting network systems. Students are also asked to apply their skills to installation, design and implementation in real world simulated environments. Graduates are trained to work in a wide variety of industries that range from small businesses to large corporations.

Computer Network Technician

Computer Network Technicians install, configure and troubleshoot local area and wide area networks. Their responsibilities encompass connecting the entire system of workstations, printers and modems to the Internet, email and other application servers via fiber optic and other types of cable. These technicians must keep their knowledge current with regard to the advances being made in convergence, bandwidth, speed of data transmission and operating systems.

The Diploma program in Computer Network Technician can lead directly to the Associate's Degree program as a Computer Network Engineer. This can, in turn, lead to the FCC Bachelor's Degree programs in Management Information Systems, Accounting, or Business Administration.

This nine-month program includes the servicing of computer and peripheral equipment. Students practice techniques necessary for the assembling of computers, analyzing and repairing malfunctions, and they gain "hands-on" experience with modern equipment.

Students are taught the skills necessary to enter the field of computer repair and maintenance. A technician's responsibilities may also include building or configuring new hardware, installing and updating software packages, and creating and maintaining computer networks. Students will use modern equipment and lab facilities to gain "hands-on" experience necessary for today's competitive job market.
