Computer Animation/Multimedia - Associate's Degree

With the enhancement of electronic and wireless technologies in today's world, interactive designers are in high demand. Multimedia designers are visual communicators that combine text and images in a virtual environment, which includes everything from animation components for the web to animated character development for commercials. Multimedia designers create in both Macintosh (Apple) and PC environments along with the Autodesk 3DS Max to generate virtual environments and basic character and object developments. The multimedia/animation program prepares students for a successful career in media design through building a foundation of traditional digital design skill, then providing students with multimedia training on current multimedia/animation applications. The critical skills of animation, modeling and rendering are taught as well as the understanding of multimedia/animation design business practices. Technologies taught include Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, InDesign and Dreamweaver.

Computer Programming & Database Management - Associate's Degree

This degree program is designed to provide students with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for a career in the information technology field. This program develops a practical knowledge of personal computer hardware and operating systems, network maintenance, along with database administration and programming fundamentals. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates can pursue entry-level careers as technical professionals. Students will learn how to program using a modern language. In addition, they will learn how to create, program populate and manage a database. This program offers students multiple disciplines.

Digital (graphic) design can refer to a number of artistic and professional disciplines which focus on visual communication and presentation. Various methods are used to create and combine symbols, images and/or words to create a visual representation of ideas and messages. A designer may utilize typography, visual arts and page layout techniques in varying degrees to produce the final product. Digital designers create in a Macintosh (Apple) environment. The network administration program will empower students with both theoretical and technical skills that will enable them to enter the information technology field by training them for entry level positions in areas such as junior administration, system administration, help desk administration or desktop support. Students will understand aspects of computer networks and infrastructure as it relates to helping organizations achieving their goals. This program will also be a springboard for students who want to pursue management of technology within an organization. This program will help students prepare for certifications in the IT industry including Net+, A+, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, Exchange Server, CCNA and Linux +. In addition, students will learn about computer programming, database programming and database management. Student can also work towards their MCDBA.

Web Design & Development - Associate's Degree

The web design and development program explores the basics of website design. Students will acquire the knowledge and develop the skills needed to understand and apply Internet concepts when designing and developing websites. The student will explore the various site design models used in personal, commercial and government websites, and will design web pages and websites utilizing a variety of techniques and software tools. Students will design, create and program websites from start to finish including back-end database integration and optimization. Students will learn how to design on both Macintosh and PCs to make them the most employable professionals in the area. Skills learned include Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Flash, Java, Javascript, html, CSS and XHTML. Students will also learn SQL, ASP and PHP for back-end development.
